Mediorite are proud to partner with The Housing Forum’s Futures Network to produce Build Your Future in Housing, a national campaign addressing skills shortages in housing by attracting and engaging young talent.
Housing is central to everyone’s lives. The new UK government’s pledge to deliver 1.5 million homes over the next five years means that there’s never been a better time to build your future in housing.
With skills shortages across construction, surveying, planning, retrofitting for energy efficiency and housing management, there’s an urgent need to boost our workforce. Raising the sector’s profile, attracting skilled workers and creating a pipeline of young and homegrown talent are now pressing priorities.
Mediorite’s work as Production Partners
Mediorite are honoured to be production partners on the Build Your Future in Housing campaign.
In close collaboration with The Housing Forum’s Futures Network and with campaign partners Co-relate, we worked on the delivery of a series of Build Your Future in Housing videos, podcasts and resources available online.
The Build Your Future in Housing campaign, brought to you by the Housing Forum’s Futures Network, connects with school leavers, career changers and employers to promote the range of careers and opportunities in this diverse and growing sector. Through personal stories and compelling information, the Build Your Future in Housing campaign is designed to boost the profile of housing as a career path, bust stereotypes and support organisations’ own recruitment campaigns.
Our production partnership credits include:

Developing new home-grown talent, championing diversity and ensuring inclusion in your practices will help to fill skill shortages now and into the future.

Mediorite’s video for young people and education providers has been shared on TikTok and elsewhere as part of the campaign launch. It features need-to-knows and mythbusting about the housing sector to help young people gain new understanding and see what’s in it for them.
After all, with the government planning to deliver 1.5 million homes in the next five years, a career in housing and construction offers growth, creativity and a chance to directly influence the world around you. People will always need places to live and work. It’s more than just building – it’s about managing and upgrading our existing homes too, to create a sustainable future.
There is also a Build Your Future in Housing resource pack for teachers featuring fun facts and careers education resources to support young people exploring future careers.
Mediorite have produced a podcast series for housing employers. All three episodes are free to view. We produced a series of three podcasts for career changers to find out more about transferable skills, accessibility, and lateral movement in housing careers. The Housing Forum's skills shortage campaign presents a huge opportunity to get diverse and under-represented groups into sustainable careers. This fits perfectly with what we're trying to achieve with Mediorite, both as a social enterprise and as production partners on the Build Your Future in Housing campaign.
I had the pleasure of directing the podcasts and heard first-hand from professionals that the sector's skills shortages mean new routes to work for young people and ex offenders, as well as those who want to upskill or change careers. It's vital that those who work in housing represent our country's diverse communities, so that we all get places and spaces to live, work and thrive.
With additional thanks to our colleagues at Co-relate for their support with the campaign resources and launch.
