BAFTA nominated content studio Peggy Pictures joins forces with youth-led film agency Mediorite to support young, ethnically diverse filmmakers through an open factual
commission worth over six thousand pounds THE IDEA… We’re looking for a 3-5 minute documentary / factual idea that reflects your life and feelings right now in these unprecedented and challenging times.
Is it about you and your family’s lived experiences?
Is it what you would like to say to people in different parts of Britain who may view young black people in a certain way?
Is it about your experiences with and how you feel about the police?
Do your family members work in frontline industries keeping the nation going during these difficult?
YOU WILL BE…
An individual or group lead by an ethnically diverse filmmaker
Be able and available to pitch your concept in writing and on video call/ in person (TBC)
Ready to film a 1-day shoot in August (this means you already have contributors agreed and have your shooting script in place)
Committed to invest the necessary time in the production process and be flexible to work around both partners schedules
Collaborative in your approach to work
WE WILL GIVE YOU…
Cash up to £1,000 to be used on wages, locations fees, expenses and licenses
5 days production support from Peggy Pictures creative director Danni worth £2,000
3 days editorial support from Peggy producer/director Emmanuel worth £1,000
Equipment including C100s, lenses, gimbal and lighting set up worth £700
5 days editing time worth £1,500
Screening for the film (date TBC) and social media support Closing date: Monday 21st July midday We will be selecting the top 5 ideas to be pitched to our panel the following week (date TBC) If you don’t hear from us by Friday 24th July you have not been successful this time, but thank you very much for your interest. Both Peggy Pictures and Mediorite believe the media plays a vital role in challenging systemic racism and that the first step towards a better society is to share more perspectives from diverse filmmakers. Peggy Pictures is a female-run content studio making programmes and podcasts for younger demographics.
