Mediorite Advisory Board Chair – Job Description


We're looking for a new Chair to help our Advisory Board offer more strategic input as we plan for a phase of growth.


Role: Advisory Board Chair Purpose: Serve as a strategic thought leader, collaborator and catalyst for action supporting the CEO

Personal Qualities:

· Demonstrate a strong and visible passion and commitment to the charity, its strategic objectives and cause

· Personal gravitas to lead a significant national organisation

· Exhibit strong inter-personal and relationship building abilities and be comfortable in an ambassadorial role

· Demonstrate tact and diplomacy, with the ability to listen and engage effectively

· Strong networking capabilities that can be utilised for the benefit of the charity

· Ability to foster and promote a collaborative team environment

· Ability to commit time to conduct the role well, including travel and attending events out of office hours

Experience:

· Experience of operating at a senior strategic leadership level within an organisation

· Successful track record of achievement through their career

· Experience of charity or commercial governance

· Experience of external representation, delivering presentations and managing stakeholders

· Significant experience of chairing meetings and events

Knowledge and Skills:

· Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate staff and volunteers and bring people together

· Financial management expertise and a broad understanding of charity finance issues

· Good understanding of charity governance issues

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

· Serve as the team leader of the advisory board

· Provide strategic focus and leadership to the Company’s Leadership Team and Advisory Board;

· Identify, articulate and prioritize the issues, topics and challenges affecting the business and the industry in which it operates

· Share experiences, expertise and contacts

· Identify and propose topical areas suitable for business development

Governance

· Preside at Advisory Board meetings, conference calls, committees and other activities to the fullest extent possible

· Ensure that the governance arrangements are working in the most effective way

· Develop the knowledge and capability of the Advisory Board

External and Internal Relations

· Advocate for the interests of the Advisory Board with key stakeholders

· Serve as a resource to the CEO and an advocate for the Business

Time Commitment:

· Lead four to six advisory board meetings per year

· Meet regularly with the Company’s Leadership Team

· Respond to requests, via e-mail and phone, for feedback and input on a variety of items
