OPPORTUNITIES

We work with a diverse range of young people who are facing barriers to employment. We work with them through free to access training programs to build their confidence, communication, team work and planning skills through filmmaking and photography. We enhance their employability and increase their knowledge of the creative industries.

JOIN OUR YOUTH BOARD

Our Youth Board is for young people aged 18-25 and operates to ensure we’re a youth-led creative agency. You will be given the opportunity to feedback and give ideas on the delivery of our youth work and inform on our training agenda. You will not only be able to network with other young creatives but also gain knowledge from creative guest speakers. We've had production companies, TV producers and even Getty Images drop in!

 

WHEN AND WHERE: 

Sessions take place virtually over Zoom once a month on a Tuesday from 6-7pm with the agenda emailed to you before the start of the session.

HOW TO APPLY: 

If you are currently NEET, have a passion for story-telling or an interest in learning how an organisation makes decisions, then apply to be a member for our Youth Board - email reuben@mediorite.co.uk with your name, CV and why you want to apply.

SHIFT - GET INTO FILM!

This would be our 6th year running the SHIFT program.

 

We're looking for young creatives aged 18-25 and based in Hackney or Tower of Hamlets for our half virtual, half face to face work program starting April 2022. You will need to have a passion for film and a track record of creating content.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

  •  6 week (1 day a week) training program working to create a short film. You'll be working with a range of creative professionals on your creative practice with opportunities to develop soft skills around leadership.

  • 6 week (1 day a week) personal development plan, polish your CV and create a showreel.

  • Support to apply for work placements with a creative business, alongside a creative mentor.

This course is the culmination of 9 years of youth film training with its aim to get you into sustainable work. The course will be half online and half face to face.

FILM SCREENING

Every year we run a film screening showcasing young people’s shorts films. An opportunity to share their talent within their local community of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

 

The event takes place at Hackney Picture House cinema, with an audience of friends, family and creative industry professionals. There's the opportunity to meet, network and listen to industry guest speakers as they talk about their journey within film.

 

If you’re a young filmmaker (under 30) and you’ve got a short film you want to share with the world...

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

We’ll be programming 12 short films (2-6 mins) and 3  longer films (up to 10 mins).
