A new approach

We gave Mediorite a complicated brief and not a lot of time to execute it – but they still achieved great results for us. We’re really happy with the service we received from Mediorite and would highly recommend them”  Lucy Burnage, Content Editor and Coordinator The Children’s Society

We’ve worked for the Children’s Society many times before but in March we had the opportunity to plan and deliver a six day photoshoot, which allowed us to use open casting, invest time finding acting talent in one area and push the amount of direction we gave the young acts we cast.

We focused our energy in Thamesmead and used youth centre The Link as a base. We ran open casting here and in Woolwich Poly. We also used both as locations.

Focusing on casting actors and shooting video casting calls allowed us to help the young people identify with the role, build a relationship with the cast before we started shooting and made it possible to cast young people who had little or no experience but tonnes of talent. We also sort to work with real youth workers, youth centres and established groups of young people from DOST and Archway

Mediorite and photographer Laura McClusky focused on bringing to life real case studies through narrative approach and everyone is happy with the results!

“Was a great experience for me to meet professional photographers and was really fun doing the little photoshoot lol, and the acting” Pardeep , 18
