Sofa Surfer – Art to support our message

Posted by on Dec 4, 2012 in Art, Film, Media

We launched Sofa Surfer on the 22nd at Art Against Knives Boxpark in Shoreditch, with art for sale ( at a reasonable price, with the money going to run more youth projects ) on every wall we wanted to find some works in keeping with the films message to help make the event complete. Connections St Martins in the Field stepped to provide us with excellent art work from their workshop – Art Space. As the UK’s busiest centre for homeless people they provide a range of specialist services to help people move away from the streets, permanently and art plays an important part.

We were lucky enough to have work from six artists with a brief description of what their work was about and why they paint. The group is drop in and gives people the freedom to express themselves creatively which increases confidence and self-esteem. Every year they hold exhibitions so homeless people have the opportunity to profile and sell their art work so keep an eye on their Art Space facebook page.

There are photography exhibitions in Jan and Feb more HERE
