Stop & Talk

Stop & Search comes up for discussion in our office over and over again. “It felt like it was being used for any opportunity to bring me down”

And in fact a study into the 2011 UK riots conducted by the London School of Economics and The Guardian – “Reading the Riots: Investigating England’s Summer of Disorder” – has highlighted the perceived discriminatory police use of stop and search as one of the key causal factors.

We’ve joined up with Off Centre’s program The Right Track to promote Stop & Talk, a film, photography exhibition and now a collaborative open letter to the papers pushing for a reduction to stop and search, and inclusion of age on police monitoring. Collaborators include : Just For Kids Law, Stop Watch and Release
