F.Y.I exhibition – you’re invited

Posted by on Oct 5, 2011 in Media, Mediorite, Photography, Social Enterprise

I can’t tell you how it feels to watch the idea me and Agenda got excited about so long ago come to life. There were times I really didn’t believe it would happen. We have YH Creatives drop out, we had sponsors drop out but after months the project that¬†started out as My Space over a year ago has become F.Y.I and the exhibition and private view are here.

Collaboration is key

It took Art Against Knives, The Hackney Young Photographers, Poached Creative and Discover Young Hackney to breathe it into life, then it took an army of volunteers and organisations to make it happen. The Rebel Dining Society, Leagas Delaney, Happy Finish, Courvoisie, Hoxton Hall, Arcola, The Last Tuesday, London Overground… I really haven’t even scratched the surface so THANKS THANKS THANKS
So join us in Hackney’s Vyner St on Thursday 6 October for the opening of a photography exhibition drawing on the character and determination of six young creative Hackney people.
The photographs will also be on display at different sites around Dalston from 6 to 30 October, making up the Dalston Art Trail. So don’t miss it!

See the map and find out more at www.focusedyoungindividuals.com

With youth unemployment reaching a new high and the recent London riots rocking Hackney, this exhibition is timely. The partners involved all work with young people, promoting positive and creative activities as an alternative.

The six young people featured were chosen by online youth magazine YH! World. The photographs were taken by Hackney YoungPhotographers and Agenda Photography and the exhibition is curated by Art Against Knives.
