It’s as easy as 1,2,3

Just came back from a great Writing for the Web workshops at Change Makers and wanted to share some of the top tips the crew took away from the day.

Compelling Content

1. Media rich : Make your as media rich as possible with photos, video and links. This goes for Twitter too so use Bit.ly to get your hyper links in.

2. Great headline and short concise sentences : Nuff. Said.

3. Excite : Speak with an active voice and add a dash of your personality.

Getting noticed

Thanks for the video Josh

1. Link all your web properties together : you can feed your Twitter to your facebook and use TWeetdeck or #fb to update both platforms together. Both can be fed into your blog. Same goes for Flickr and YOutube

2. Key words : Think about the key words your audience will be searching for. Repeat these key words as many times as you can and make sure you label your photos. Let Google Analytics show you what key words your browsers used to find you

3. Get your network to help : make your content exciting and relevant, add a call to action and you can get your friends, and affiliates to help you spread your message virally. #ff can help

I’ll leave you with one last thought! Jump on a the bandwagon – what else is happening in the wider media you can weave into your article.
